You need Microsoft Word installed on the same server as the SQL Server instance and also, if you don t already have them, the MS Word Primary Interop Assemblies. You can download them from the Microsoft web site by searching for Office 2003 Update Redistributable Primary Interop Assemblies. Once you have installed them, you need to go to the installation location on your hard disk mine, for example, is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Visual Studio Tools for Office\PIA\Office11. Once there, copy the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.dll file into the latest 1.x .NET Framework directory (mine is c:\windows\Microsoft.Net\ Framework\version 1.1.4322.573). With that done you now need to configure the .NET Framework and add the Word Interop Assembly into the GAC. From the Start menu, go to the Control Panel and then into Administrative Tools.
